Treatments with muscle relaxants
Hyperhidrosis | M1 Med Beauty
Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating that can occur with men and women equally. It affects 3 in 100 British people and can become a serious burden if everyday life is affected by it. Exessive sweating commonly appears in armpits, hands, feet, or face. One cause of hyperhidrosis is thought to be overactive nerves in the problem areas triggering sweat glands when there is no need. Not only is it adding to the stress for a person but it can exacerbate skin conditions like eczema and tinea.

How does a hyperhidrosis treatment work?
Depending on the type and intensity of sweating, there is a choice between surgical and non-surgical hyperhidrosis treatment. In the field of minimally invasive treatments, injecting sweat glands with muscle relaxants has proven to be a very effective method to counteract excessive sweating. Injected muscle relaxant blocks the sweat glands so that they can no longer be reached by nerve impulses. As a result, sweat glands are put into a more relaxed state and excessive sweat is no longer seen or felt at the surface of the skin. The resulting effect can last up to six months.
What are the risks of an excessive sweating treatment?
Excessive sweating treatment with muscle relaxants is a very low-risk procedure and well tolerated by most clients. You may experience redness, bruises, pressure sensitivity, swelling, or a slight numbness in the fingers, but will subside within a few days. It is recommended to avoid excess sun exposure, solariums, saunas, and exercise 2-3 days after your treatment to not affect your results. Hyperhidrosis treatment will begin to take effect 10 days after the injection and can last 4-6 months. At this point, the hyperhidrosis treatment may be repeated.
